HS RallyeTeam: Aufstieg in die Prototypenklasse ist geglückt

23. Juli 2012 – Die ersten Führungskilometer überhaupt, das beste Tagesergebnis seit 2008 und der siebte Klassensieg bei der 14. Wüstenrallye: Matthias Kahle und Dr. Thomas M. Schünemann haben bei der Silk Way Rallye einen gelungenen Einstand in der Klasse der Allrad-Prototypen hingelegt. Die Piloten des HS RallyeTeams kämpften bis zum letzten Tag um den Sieg und mussten erst auf der furiosen Schlussetappe einen Rückschlag hinnehmen.

17. Juli 2012 – Matthias Kahle und Dr. Thomas M. Schünemann haben bei der Silk Way Rallye den Sieg in der Klasse der Diesel-Prototypen eingefahren und in der Gesamtwertung Platz Sieben von 91 Teams aus 16 Nationen erzielt. Nach der Rückkehr aus Russland sprachen die Piloten des HS RallyeTeams im Doppelinterview über ihre Prototypen-Premiere, den Vergleich zu den Buggies und die Dakar 2013.

Silk Way Rally 2012, letzte Etappe: HS RallyeTeam mit dem „Einrad“ auf Platz Sieben

12. Juli 2012 – Die Silk Way Rallye 2012 endet mit einer ereignisreichen Etappe: Trotz dreifachem Antriebswellenschaden und mit nur einem angetriebenen Rad erreichen Matthias Kahle und Dr. Thomas M. Schünemann die Zielrampe in Maykop. Nach einer anstrengenden und lehrreichen Woche ist das HS RallyeTeam mit Platz Sieben bei der Prototypen-Premiere hochzufrieden.

Matthias Kahle hatte mit seiner Prognose „die Silk Way Rallye wird spannender als je zuvor“ vollkommen Recht. Aber dass das Finale der einwöchigen Marathonrallye so dramatisch wird, damit hätte selbst der siebenfache Deutsche Rallye-Meister nicht gerechnet. Auf der abschließenden Speziale von Elista nach Maykop wirbelte es die komplette Spitzengruppe noch einmal durcheinander. Christian Lavieille (Dessoude Proto) rutschte von Platz eins auf fünf ab, der zuvor zweitplatzierte Jerome Pelichet (Overdrive-Toyota) konnte die Speziale erst gar nicht beenden. Die Nutznießer hießen Boris Gadasin (G-Force-Proto), Balasz Szalay (Opel Antara RR) und Miroslav Zapletal (Hummer H3), die in dieser Reihenfolge die Podestplätze belegen und nicht einmal elf Minuten auseinander liegen.

Silk Way Rally 2012 finish: 7th overall after a crazy day

At the start of the todays last stage we was in position to fight for the 4th place, after CP1 we was in position to step on the podium and after the finish we are on the 7th place overall. A quiet crazy end for our first trip to Russia…All competitors had to face problems or suffered after CP 1. So Zapletal tried to cross a river and failed, Pelichet damaged his rear axle, Lavieille had to stop several times, Gadasin stopped because of brake problems and so for some minutes the chance to step on the podium was quiet near. But as fast as we had the chance, we could enjoy it only a few minutes. Than also Matthias and Thomas suffered a problem with the drive shafts and lost many time. Competitor by competitor passed the crew in the SAM and at least they crossed the finish line of the last stage with a Gap of 2hours 53 minutes to the stage winner. Hard to say that the overall-gap to the winner Boris Gadasin was only 2 hours 39 minutes at all after 5 days of racing…

Neverless we would believed to finish this Rally on 7th position overall, if somebody told us that before. But now this becomes serious and therefore we’re proud and know that we’re close to the top. We congratulate Boris Gadasin , Balazs Szalay and Miroslav Zapletal for the podium and looking forward to the Rally Dakar 2013.

Quiet fuzzy situation, but we arrived in the finish! Unofficial
7th overall, I can’t believe it…after this crazy day….Now we’ll wait for the official result…

Echt verrückte Situation, aber wir sind im Ziel! Inoffiziell werden wir als 7. Gesamt gelistet…nach solch einem verrücktem Tag kaum zu glauben…wir warten noch auf die offizielle Bestätigung…

Silk Way Rally Stage 5 after CP1

Last Stage of the rally: at CP1 HS RallyTeam took over 9 minutes from Zapletal – Pelichet damaged the rear axle…Szalay is forcing his speed…now only 10min behind Matthias and Thomas…

Letzte Prüfung der Rallye: bei CP1 hat das HS RallyeTeam bereits 9 Minuten auf Miroslav Zapletal gewonnen…Pelichet hat sich die Hinterachse zerstört…Szalay steigert sein Tempo und hat nur noch 10 min Rückstand auf Matthias und Thomas…

Silk Way 2012, Etappe 4: HS RallyeTeam mit Heckantrieb ins Etappenziel

11. Juli 2012 – Allradpremiere ohne Allrad: Nach einer harten Landung bei Kilometer 190 mussten Matthias Kahle und Dr. Thomas M. Schünemann in der zweiten Hälfte der heutigen Speziale ohne den Antrieb an der Vorderachse auskommen. Trotz dieses Problems behauptet das HS RallyeTeam die fünfte Position in der Gesamtwertung.

Für das HS RallyeTeam begann die vierte Etappe der Silk Way Rallye mit einem packenden Dreikampf: Im Dünenabschnitt zu Beginn der Speziale fuhren Matthias Kahle und Dr. Thomas M. Schünemann Seite an Seite mit Bernard Errandonea (SMG-Diesel-Buggy) und FIA-Weltcup-Sieger Boris Gadasin (G-Force-Proto). Der direkte Vergleich mit Buggy und Prototyp ließ für die Piloten interessante Rückschlüsse auf die eigene Fahrweise zu.

Silk Way Rally Stage 4: The battle for the 4th place begins

Even ones  more  the weather took the leadership of the organisation of the Silk Way Rally. The organiser announced that the race will cross its finish line tomorrow in Maykop, and as respect to the victims of the floods in the Krasnodar Region  the organsers had set up a fund to donate money to the victims.

The todays stage was modified also and the finish line was placed at the former CP2 of the stage. Matthias Kahle and Thomas Schünemann did the section in hard fighting with the SMG Buggy of  Errandonea. While the sandy battle with the buggy continues, the HS RallyeTeam tooks more and more time from the advantage of Miroslav Zapletal, who stays on the 4th place overall. After the day a gap of only one second remains between the Czech Hummer and the German SAM. After the finish Matthias Kahle said in an Interview:

„We didn’t expect such a result…The car was brand new, the engine was brand new and the main thing was for to test the car and test all the parts to see the finish BUT Its very tight, so I think we’ll push and try to get 4th place „.

So it would be a very hard day of 423 kms stage tomorrow. Physical for the crews and even dramatical for the team – while waiting for the competitors arriving at the finish line of the Silk Way Rally.

Finish stage 4: 9 cars in, Matthias and Thomas on 7th place…
Overall only one! second behind Zapletal…seems to be a show down tomorrow in the final stage…

Ziel Speziale 4: 9 Fahrzeuge durch, Matthias und Thomas auf dem 7.Rang…Gesamtwertung nur noch eine Sekunde hinter Zapletal…zur finalen Prüfung morgen gibts wohl einen Showdown zwischen den Beiden….
